What does GMAIL Security Mean to You

While staying at a hotel, you visit the business center and find some open computers, you then sign into gmail and print out your boarding passes or time share visit discount coupons.  But then you walk away and forget to logoff.  Now the next guy who comes along will be able to use your gmail to spam your friends and family.

How You Can Check Your Gmail Logon Sessions and Kick Hackers Out

This guide will explain how to identify those forgotten logon sessions and how to locate them, and then how to force a logout of all the sessions at once. First step is to logon to gmail, then look at the inbox, then you should scroll down using the messages pane, scroll down all the way to the bottom to find the Details button at the bottom right corner.

Look at the inbox, using Chrome, then scroll all the way down to click on details.

Then click on Details, which will open a pop-up window looking similar to this:

Gmail Sessions that are still open, as you can see they are all in Southern California, which is where I am located, so no need to worry.

In this window, you can click on “Show Details” to show details about the browser or application.  On the middle column, you can see the IP address and approximate location of the logon.   Click on “Sign out all other gmail web sessions” to log off all of the others, except for the current session.
